Pharma, biotech and health care have been important focus areas in my professional life. I’ve edited two trade papers in these fields:
- Genetic Engineering News (now known as Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News) was a pioneering trade paper for the biotechnology industry. I was one of its first managing editors.
- The Medical Business Journal was a wide-ranging executive newspaper for an international audience of C level executives of health care companies, investment bankers and government officials, providing strategic perspectives on 53 health care market segments, from drugs and devices to health insurance and managed care. I served as editor/publisher, wrote much of the content, and conducted monthly interviews with CEOs and other key executives.
I have provided public relations services, crafting many kinds of media relations and marketing materials, for drug, medical device and biotech companies, as an independent consultant and as a VP at GCI Group (Grey Advertising). PR clients have included Cordis Corp. (now part of Johnson & Johnson), Creative BioMolecules, Elscint, Erbamont Inc., Escalon Ophthalmics, Immunomedics, The Liposome Company, and Novo Nordisk A/S.

More recently, I have provided content marketing services to Singota Solutions (formerly BioConvergence LLC), a company providing laboratory and logistical services to pharmaceutical companies.
And I write regularly about developments in biomedical science.
